Commissioning an artwork
Am I currently accepting commissions?
Commissions are currently closed.
Prices
The prices of my paintings vary due to size, complexity and materials. The price list you see here shows an indication of the possible prices. We will discuss the price further when you contact me for the commission after the commissions open up again.
Payment terms
A nonrefundable deposit of 30% of the selling price is required before work commences. Payment in full, including shipping fees, is due upon completion of the artwork(s), before shipping.
Copyright
The Artist reserves the common-law copyright to all works commissioned by the Collector that are created by the Artist, including all reproduction rights* and the right to claim statutory copyright. It is possible to discuss different terms if you don’t want the work to be shared online or reproduced. However, additional fees may apply.
*Portraits of loved ones won’t be reproduced for sellable prints. They will purely be used for the presentation of past works at an exhibition or gallery or other means of artist representation.
Commission agreement
Before I start on the commission, I will ask you to sign a commission agreement so both parties are clear on what is discussed.
How does it work?
- Read the commission specifications linked below.
- Contact me through the Contact form on this page with your commission ideas and your personal information.
- We will discuss the proposed commission. This includes your ideas, the necessary photo and video references, the timeline in which the artwork can be started and completed by, the size of the artwork, the materials and the overall cost of the project.
- Once the terms of the commission are agreed upon, a commission agreement will be signed to formalize the arrangement and begin the painting process.
- The painting process will commence and I will be sharing work in progress updates with the collector.
- After completion of the artwork the collector will be notified. They will be send a picture and/or video of the painting, for approval. There will be a waiting period of at least 3 months in which the oil painting will need to dry and be varnished. When the payment for the artwork and shipping is finalized, the painting will be carefully packaged and shipped to the collector
